The Event or Competition - Oratacular

The Oratacular (the “Event” or “Competition”) is a totally skill-based Event. It is open to any child who as of February 2020 (i) is in grades 1st -8 in the U.S. and Canada and (ii) can attend a registered center to participate. Please see our website, http://www.oratacular.com where parents can learn more about the Event, including registering your child. Each student (“Participant”) will prepare their speech according to the provided materials and topic. Parents, please contact the registered center for specific date and time within the month of February 2020. Students will compete with other participants at the registered center. Prizes and awards will vary per location, so speak with the Center Director of your registered center to learn more.

Donation to National Center for Families Learning

Eye Level will donate $1 to the National Center for Families Learning (https://www.familieslearning.org/) for every child that attends the first-round event at one of our learning centers.

Winner Selection Process and Criteria:

First Round: The Center Director will choose one student winner from each registered center to record a video of their speech. At the choice of the winner’s parent, the video can be submitted to Eye Level’s Corporate Headquarters in New Jersey for consideration in the final round.

North America (U.S. and Canada) Final Round: Judges at Eye Level Corporate will evaluate the speech and will count for 80% of this round’s selection of winners. The other 20% will be based on YouTube voting via “Likes” on the student videos. Judging will be based on a set rubric; “Likes” on YouTube will be weighted against the top “Like” vote winner. Please contact by email (evenusa@myeyelevel.com) if you would like more information on the winner selection process.

Prizes Awarded

All gold and silver winners will also receive a trophy and certificate.

Gold Winners: Four gold winners will be selected based on the combined score of the judges and YouTube “Likes” as explained above.

Gold winners who are in Grades 3-6: These students will receive an all-expense paid trip to South Korea to attend the” Model UN Camp,” an event held by Eye Level’s parent company, Daekyo Co. Ltd. in August 2020. There will be no cash substitute (or any other substitute prizes) if a Gold winner is in grades 3-6. Please also note that Eye Level will not pay any expenses for parents or guardians accompanying a Gold winner to South Korea. Eye Level will provide details and logistics of the trip closer to the time of the event.

>Gold winners who are not in Grades 3-6:
If a Gold winner is not in grades 3-6, then the student will receive $500 USD

Silver Winners: Eight Silver winners will receive $200 USD
